The Fairytale Canyon

Mix media on canvas

Inspired by the otherworldly landscapes of Fairytale Canyon in Kyrgyzstan, The Fairytale Canyon translates its dramatic rock formations, flowing curves and organic shapes into an abstract composition.

The work explores the warm palette of the canyon, combining shades of orange and pink with rich, tactile textures. Layers of cotton, acrylic paint and sand create a relief-like surface that echoes the eroded forms and natural rhythms of the landscape.

Rather than depicting the canyon literally, the piece captures its atmosphere and movement, transforming its distinctive curves and geological forms into an abstract interpretation of a landscape that feels almost imagined—a place where nature itself takes on the qualities of a fairytale.
